Mark
Wlodyka is the Director of Satellite
Communications at MacDonald Dettwiler
and Associates (MDA). Mark is
responsible for the technical
management of the Systems Engineering
work leading to an advanced Low
Earth Orbit broadband satellite
system. Mark oversees the satellite
and the ground terminal architectures,
the RF and high-speed modem technology
assessments, the industrial capability
assessment, and the overall program
costing and technology planning.
In addition Mark is supporting
the marketing team in securing
project investment financing.
Prior to joining MDA, from 1996
until 1999 Mark was the Director
of the Advanced Systems Products
at Com Dev where he was responsible
for the development of new advanced
digital communications products
and systems for space. At Com
Dev Mark initiated product identification,
business assessments, customer
development, business planning,
and R&D requirement analysis.
From 1982 until 1996 Mark worked
at MPR Teltech Limited, producing
proprietary digital radio products.
During his time at MPR Teltech
Mark worked as both Engineering
and Business Manager. Over his
career Mark has acquired more
than 20 years of progressive advanced
transmission technology, systems,
hardware product development and
business development experience,
covering a broad range of state-of-the-art
terrestrial, satcom, and space
based communication systems. Mark
holds B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees
in Electrical Engineering from
the University of British Columbia.
