Dr. Kalai Kalaichelvan is Chairman and CEO of EION Inc., a leading communication company specialized in IP enabled wireless and wired technologies. He brings extensive experience in the communications industry ranging from leading businesses to technology development. He was Chairman and co-founder of iPine Networks prior to its acquisition by Nakina Systems.

For his entrepreneurial innovation, CATA Alliance and National Research Council honored him with a prestigious Canadian Innovation Award - Innovator of the Year 2004.

He is currently the only Canadian member on the Advisory Board of Samsung Electronics, Seoul, Korea, influencing Samsung’s long-term strategic direction on networking business. Prior to founding EION, he was a VP in Nortel Networks heading-up the strategic IP software business unit in Wireless and Carrier Networks. While in Nortel, he was recognized as Top Talent Platinum for leadership and has been a recipient of the two most prestigious President’s Award of Excellence.

Dr. Kalai Kalaichelvan holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the University of Toronto, Canada. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication from University of Madras, India.
