Debbie
Weinstein is a co-founding partner
of LaBarge Weinstein, a business
law firm. Debbie's practice encompasses
the representation of emerging growth
companies, established public and
private technology businesses, venture
capital funds and investment bankers.
She has represented issuers and
underwriters in numerous Canadian
and U.S. public offerings including
JDS Fitel Inc. (now JDS Uniphase
Corporation), GSI Lumonics Inc.,
Accelio Corporation (formerly JetForm
Corporation) and MOSAID Technologies
Limited; has substantial experience
in venture capital transactions
and is particularly focused on mergers
and acquisitions where she has participated
in the sale of high tech companies
to Cisco Systems Corporation, Lucent
Corporation, Sun Microsystems, PMC-Sierra
Inc. and Alcatel.
Debbie sits on the Board of Directors
of Accelio Corporation, MOSAID Technologies
Limited, AIT Corporation, Dynex
Power Inc., the Ottawa Heart Institute
Foundation and OCRI.
Debbie is a 1983 graduate of Osgoode
Hall Law School and was called to
the Bar of Ontario in 1985. Prior
to co-founding LaBarge Weinstein,
Debbie was a partner of Blake Cassels
& Graydon in Ottawa from 1991
to 1997 and was, prior to her departure,
administrative partner of that office
and a member of the firm's national
partnership committee.
