Ryuji
Kohno is a Professor in the Physics
Division, Electrical and Computer
Engineering, Graduate School or
Engineering, at Yokohama National
University in Japan where he has
served since 1998. Dr. Ryuji Kohno
received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical
Engineering from the University
of Tokyo in 1984.
Dr. Kohno has been a member of the
Board of Governors of the IEEE IT
Society since elected as a member
in Y2000, and has served as an associate
editor of the IEEE Transactions
on Information Theory from 1995
- 1998 and as an editor of the Institute
of Electronics, Information, and
Communications Engineers (IEICE)
Transactions on Communications from
1990 - 1993. Dr. Kohno has contributed
to the organization of many international
conferences and served as the TPC
Chairman of the 1999 IEEE International
Symposium on Personal, Indoor, Mobile
Radio Communications (PIMRC'99).
Dr. Kohno chaired the IEICE Technical
Group on Spread Spectrum Technology
from 1995 - 1998 and the IEICE Technical
Group on Intelligent Transport Systems
from 1999 - 2000.
He is a general co-chair of the
IEEE International Symposium on
Information Theory (ISIT2003) scheduled
for June 2003. Dr. Kohno is currently
an associate editor of the IEEE
Transactions on Communications and
Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
and is the Chairman of the IEICE
Technical Group on Software Radio.
